Pay Rise

75% PAY RISE FOR LEADERS

After an extensive survey of Scout Leaders, it has been decided to award a 75% pay rise with immediate effect!

We could even afford to award ourselves a 500% pay rise since 500% of nothing is nothing!

That’s right, we receive no money whatsoever to look after other people’s children.

Why do we do it?

Each Leader would no doubt give a different reason. But basically it is because our movement equips today’s youth for the trials and tribulations of adulthood.

Who become Leaders?

Some Venture Scouts see it as a natural progression once they become 20 years old. They feel the desire to pass on some of their accumulated knowledge and experience to younger people.

There are parents who give up some of their spare time to help out, and then continue after their children have left.

Some people “come back” after a few years’ break.

We all have 2 things in common:

We are short of time;

We are almost extinct.

If you want a chat (without, as they say, obligation) about being a helper, or even a Leader, please do not hesitate to contact me, Dave Calverley (contact details below).

Since this Group was closed I keep this site going as a tribute to the Group, its former members, and because of the vast amount of resources I built up over the years. To lose all this would be a travesty. I do all this at my own expense.

Should you find the site helpful and want to donate, please do so.
